This machine carries out a complete dry cast process, it uses a belt feed and hopper for fast filling, powerful linear vibration and employs a unique rotary screeding process. It is capable of producing a wide range of products.

The Rotascreed is manufactured to the highest standard of engineering using up to date production methods. All components that are used in the manufacturing of the Rotascreed are of a high standard and are sourced from reliable and reputable suppliers.

The Rotascreed consists of:

  • Main frame
  • Hopper for holding the concrete
  • Hopper belt for discharging the concrete
  • Feed tray with agitators
  • Finishing disc

The hopper will hold approx. 1.25 cubic meters of concrete, and there is a door on the hopper that is opened via a hydraulic ram controlled by the operator.

The hopper belt runs in one direction to dispense the concrete from the hopper into the feed tray.

The feed tray contains 3 agitators that are controlled by the operator. It is supplied with a standard rectangular shape feed tray, and a circular feed tray can also be supplied. The circular feed tray allows for greater concrete flow around the agitators and reduces any missed areas when agitating.

Power Requirements

The total power requirements for the Rotascreed is approximately 20 kW 380/440 V AC @ 50/60 Hz.

Operator Controls

The operator controls are all manually operated. The hydraulic controls are all Danfoss levers and include some proportional controls to give the operator a better control over the machine movements.

Production Run

  1. The concrete holding hopper is filled with concrete.
  2. The operator moves the Rotascreed over the mould that is clamped to the vibrating table.
  3. The operator lowers the feed tray to the vibrating table and then starts the hopper belt. This runs the concrete from the hopper into the feed tray. Agitators located in the feed tray assist in the dispersion of the concrete and increase concrete flow.
  4. The feed tray and hopper are then move along the mould in order to completely fill the mould with concrete. The vibrating table is running at this stage in order to help consolidate the concrete into the mould.
  5. Once the mould has been suitably filled, the feed tray is raised and the finishing disc is lowered. The disc rotates at a high speed and is moved along the top of the mould several times.
  6. Once the operator is satisfied with the finish given by the disc, it is raised and the hopper unit is moved into the park position of the Rotascreed. The operator then disengages the vibrating table clamps and moves the mould that has just been filled to a demould position. An empty mould is then brought back to the vibrating table by the Rotascreed and is ready to be filled while the previous mould is demoulded.

Optional Extras

  • Large round feed tray: for use with larger products such as cover slabs.
  • Conical shaped feed tray: for use with thinner products.
  • Separate Finishing Disc Unit
  • Separate Polishing Beam Unit
  • Hopper arm mounted seat system: keeps the operator looking into the feed tray at all times.
  • Short travel seat system: the seat is only allowed to travel a certain distance and is independent of the hopper.
  • Water spray bar: mounted on hopper unit or on selected finisher/polisher unit.
