The Coote Megacast is a complete filling and handling system, which is controlled by a single operator. The concrete in the holding hopper is dispensed via a vibrating feed chute into the mould.
The Megacast lifts clamps and rotates through 180 degrees allowing moulds to be placed into and removed from the stack, and product to be easily stripped from the mould onto finished product pallets.
The Megacast is an ideal machine for someone to start up with production of wet cast products and enable them to increase production at a later date with the addition of a Pallet Handler.
The Megacast system is used for the production of
- Wet Cast products up to 2.5m in width, 600mm deep and up to 5m in length.
The Megacast is manufactured to the highest standard of engineering using up to date production methods.
All components that are used in the manufacturing of the Megacast are of a high standard and are sourced from reliable and reputable suppliers.
The Megacast consists of a:
- Main frame,
- Hopper for holding the concrete,
- Underslung vibratory feeder,
- Pendant arm controls
- Coote clamp and rotate units
The hopper will hold approx. 1.00 cubic meters of concrete.
There is a door on the hopper that is opened via a hydraulic ram which is controlled by the operator.
There is a vibrator mounted onto the underside of the door in order to allow the flow of the wet concrete.
The lifting of the clamp units is restricted to 1.4m, which leaves the stacking height at a typical 1.0m. The standard Coote Engineering clamping and rotating system is utilised in this system.
Power Requirements
The total power requirements for the Megacast is approximately 11 kW 380/440 V AC @ 50/60 Hz
(The power requirements may vary due to the country of sale)
Operator Controls
The operator controls are all manually operated. The hydraulic controls are all Danfoss levers. There are several controls that are also mounted to give control over the vibrating table if requested.
Production Run
- The concrete holding hopper is filled with concrete.
- The operator moves the Megacast over the mould that is located on the vibration system.
- The operator positions the hopper over the top of the mould. The hopper door is then opened to the correct level and the vibrator begins the flow of concrete.
- The hopper is moved along the mould filling it with concrete, when a suitable level has been filled the operator starts the vibration system from the controls located on the pendant arm.
- The concrete is levelled with the vibration and any low spots in the mould are filled by the operator.
- Once the mould has been suitably filled, the hopper is parked in the park area of the main frame. The Megacast then clamps the mould and brings it to the curing area.
- A cured mould is then selected and is brought to the demoulding position (can either be front or rear with this system). The product is demoulded from the mould which is brought back to the front of the system to be filled with concrete again.
Optional Extras
- Hopper sides extension.
- Dry / Wet hopper
- Direction of door facing
